Reaction to War of the Worlds
I found this quite interesting because of how real it sounded to me. I'm not surprised at all that 1 out of 12 people thought it to be true and were scared shitless, if anything im surprised it wasn't a bit of a higher percentage. The reason is mostly just because of all the things that were goin' on in the country at that time and how authentic the newscast actually sounded.

I was just getting home one Sunday evening when this tv program was on. I don't remember the name of the program or what network it was on but it was a show about several astroid falling towards Earth. It didn't have the usual movie look to it so I thought it was real. It looked like news. They had "reporters" all over this country and world giving updates and no one at my house was concerned. I asked several times if this was real. Every time I asked my family said "no, it's a movie". The movie maker did a good job. I kept going outside and looking at the sky but nothing was happening. I have never seen this movie again. I think it may because the same thing may have happened that happened when "War of the Worlds" was aired.
